Sorry I didn’t post yesterday – I got brutalized at work, much like the zookeeper in the Onion article I recently posted.
So anyway, last week I won an iPod.

It was a strange thing, since I never win anything. Not even my own mother’s love.
However, the joy quickly turned to muted rage, as it always does. You see, I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last 3 days of my life stressing out over getting the iPod’s corresponding software to work. It was a major pain in the ass, from having to update Windows 3 or 4 times to finding out that the particular CD-ROM drive that my work computer uses is the one model that isn’t compatable with iTunes. How neat!
Finally, late in the day yesterday I finally had a breakthrough and found a backdoor using another program that would allow me to get my music onto the iPod. My sense of relief was short lived as my co-worker who wanted to look at the new toy for a bit accidentally scratched the screen. So I then had that going for me. Which was nice.
In the end, the ironic bit was that I had spent so much energy stressing out over something that had won. It wasn’t like I had purchased it and gotten ripped off, I had won it outright and then proceeded to let it destroy my life for a couple of days.
All of this clearly demonstrates that I’m a horrible person who will never be happy.
Have a great day!
Did tucker scratch it? Did you get the FM broadcaster thing… the stress of the iPod continues.
How did you win it?
Mark Smiley would say, “Don’t buy the Belkin FM transmitter. It sucks.”
Geof, you’re too days too late on the Belkin FM transmitter. I did buy it and it truly does suck butt. I need to do some research on finding a good one so I can listen in my car.
Oh, and I won it through ASCAP – the musicians union.
Sorry to be late … I was away doing that whole .net weekend thing.
