Ah, it’s good to be back.
Ol’ B and I had a very nice time in NYC celebrating our honeymoon. It was an exciting trip filled with merriment, wonder, and pungent bums eager to converse. After the initial ugliness of our hotel check-in experience had subsided, it was a relief that we ended up having a lovely week together.
A few noteworthy tidbits from the trip:
-Everything you’ve heard about taxi drivers in New York is true; they really are crazy. Our cab driver shot a dog in the head for some reason, and then charged us an extra $4 bullet fee.
-Lady Liberty is remarkably unattractive. Seriously, we’d be better off resculpting her with Bea Arthur’s face.
-The Subway’s token machines have stuck me with probably 7 or 8 Sacajawea coins. Again, really an unattractive woman.
-Tourists were everywhere, and it was really annoying. We tried to remain inconspicuous by keeping our camera and maps packed away when we didn’t need it. Also, Bridgette made me stop shouting, “Look honey, I don’t know why I decided to cash out our savings account and dangle the cash wad out my back pocket! Just leave me alone about it already! Stop nagging me!”
-There were pigeons everywhere, and they don’t make as good a pet as you’d think they would. They keep trying to fly away, even after you’ve taken one of their wings off.
-Turns out there’s a cold wind blowing when you’re standing on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean this time of year. Swimming doesn’t warm you up much, either.
-The Metropolitan Museum of Art is worth spending a few hours on. Don’t expect a good arcade though, because theirs really sucks.
Hope those help out next time you’re in the Big Apple!
i can’t wait to go to NYC! RIGHTEOUS!
in new orleans the bullet fee is $7, so NYC gives you quite a deal.
My father-in-law-to-be owns 50+ odd pigeons. And not a single one is dressed in a little tux and a top hat.
What a waste.
Not kidding about the pigeons.
Next time try taking off both their wings. I’m not sure if they’re still trying to fly or not, because there really isn’t any flapping going on anymore, but boy do their eyes get big and wide when you do that.
I love “Big eyes”.
Great to see you made it back okay. New York is full of crazy people.
Thom-
No it isn’t.
You are being delusional Peter. I know for a fact that it is. I watched ALL nine seasons of Seinfeld. Sit Coms don’t lie.
I think the crazy people left when Peter came home.
