Jesus Cops vs. Pastortron 9000

Of all the Rock TV’s we’ve done since I joined the ministry in 2002, this one is probably my favorite:

This was created for the Rock’s summer retreat in 2005. The original cut was about 12 minutes long and filled with copyrighted music. We’ve now snipped out a few minutes and removed all music we can’t use from it so it can be shared online. In the end, I think the video is actually better for it.

For those who don’t know, the Rock was created by pastors Mark Darling and Greg Larson, and in a previous video, we pretended that they spent a brief period in the 70′s as stars of a failed television action series. The Pastortron character, meanwhile, is the result of some lovely, bizarre writing from the team.

Enjoy! (“It’s glorious!”)

P.S. You have not experienced hot until you are dressed in a suit of insulation and tin on a sunny July day. The sweating was formidable that day, my friends.

Yes, but how was the smell?

  2. peter says:

    Quite pleasant, actually.

  3. Ted says:

Unless you ever touched the gloves that he had to wear. They were pretty much soaking wet and smelled something that is reminisce of every zoo experience I have ever had.

  4. peter says:

Ah yes, those gloves! I remember that Ryan Pickett had to wear them to shoot Pastortron’s POV shot at the end when Jeromy is holding his hand, and it was soaking wet when I handed it to him.

I felt kinda bad, but not too bad.

  5. goonclamper says:

nice storyhill at the end. believe it.

  6. peter says:

Yeah, I love their version of that song. It finished off the video with a nice 70′s vibe without using an overdone disco joke.

  7. Bill says:

I don’t get the Calvinism comment….that video appeared that it was predestined to happen. TULIP all the way!
