Woodcock Musings

Hey guys, do you remember that movie that came out a few months ago, Mr. Woodcock?

Have you thought about what that name sounds like?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAGH! I hadn’t realized it until this morning, but that title is a subtle double entendre!

You thought you’d slipped one past me, Hollywood, but I’m smarter than that! Mr. Woodcock! Yeah right, like that’s his real name! :) :) :P

I’ll bet the movie was a throwback to the comedies of the 40s and 50s, where the actors were classy, the kisses were closed-mouthed, and the dialogue crackled with clever zingers and quips! I don’t follow the movie business much nowadays, but I’ll just go ahead an assume that Mr. Woodcock was the top grossing, most beloved movie of 2007.

Hehe, Mr. Woodcock. I know what they really mean, because I’m smart and I understand dry humor.

I also enjoy The King of Queens.

It is firmly believed to be a contender for Best Picture and Best Lighting @ the Oscars this year.

  2. peter says:

If Mr. Woodcock doesn’t win Best Sound Editing, I will literally shit myself.

  3. Adam says:

Be sure to eat tacos the night before!

hey, peter: you may be smart, but you missed something…

  5. Craig says:

This could be a like a classic Johnny Carson “Carnac The Magnificent” sketch:

(Puts corner of envelope up to his head)

    CARNAC: Woodcock

    ED MACMAHON: Woodcock

    (laughter)

Carnac rips open end of envelope, blows into it, removes note and reads —

CARNAC: What is a common injury caused to male tree huggers?

  6. Sarah says:

    Nice Craig.

Did anyone not notice the subcaptions:

“Letting go of your past is hard. Especially when it’s dating your mom.”

Think about this. This could imply 2 things.
    1. That it’s the man in the middle who’s the representative “past” or
    2. That this kid actually dated his own mom in his past.

    Brilliant!

  7. scott says:

i can’t believe seann william scott stooped so low as to act in that movie.

  8. kevin s. says:

    Peter,

You might also want to check out Two and a Half Men, if it isn’t too high brow for your taste.

  9. Thom says:

No, I think most of the humor on Two and a Half Man would go right over Peter’s head.
