This morning I found the following illustration on the back of one of my World History finals:

Not the finest, most original gag I’ve come across, but it did cause me to lean back in my chair, illicitly crack open a can of Pabst, and reflect on my accomplishments as an educator. I suppose all one teacher can ask is to have touched the lives of their students in some small way. For me to see one of my students debase an inspiring moment of defiant Western individualism with a crude drawing like this is more than any educator deserves. I was able to help this aimless young adult connect with the material in a tangible, credible way, thus facilitating his callous mockery. I feel like Michelle Pfeiffer in Dangerous Minds 2: Back to the Beach.
Seriously though, the kid got a C-minus.
That’s awesome!
